Wanderers in Wonder searching for waterfalls in the desert.
Calf Creek flows out of its cozy canyon and courses through this beautiful valley on its way to the Escalante, then Colorado and finally into the Gulf of California.
Quite a sight to behold in the Utah desert. The 6.2 mile trek was well worth the few drops of sweat.
At about the three mile point the trail takes a decided left, north…look up…a 130 foot cascade of cool clear water flowing from the slickrock desert above…Calf Creek Falls.
The flora are showing off their autumn finest, the rocks glow in the morning sun.
Somewhere in this slickrock desert expanse there courses a creek, Calf Creek. The trail heads northeasterly from the BLM Campground.
