Memphis State of Mind 23 April 2022

Walked the longest pedestrian bridge across the ‘Big Muddy’, the Mississippi River, from downtown Memphis to Arkansas.
Coreopsis colors the banks of the Big Muddy yellow with the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid in the distance.
Quiet on Beale Street during our visit.
Incredible displays of Rock and Soul music. Spent hours, could spend days.
There is a room where visitors can pull up selections from every member of the Hall. One can sit for hours savoring The Blues.
They are all here from Blind Lemon Jefferson, Bessie Smith, Leadbelly and Handy through BB King, Muddy Waters, Ray Charles and Ike Turner to Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Dr. John and Bonnie Raitt.
“Has anybody here seen my old friend Martin?
Can you tell me where he’s gone?
He freed a lot of people
But it seems the good die young
But I just looked around and he’s gone.”

Abraham, Martin and John – – Dick Holler
4 April 1968 and that man of Peace and Principle was with us no more. Less than a month later Bobby would join Abraham, Martin and John.

Peace…Wanderers in Wonder.
